INTRODUCTION

Welcome to my 10mm pistol and 5.56 tactical carbine site.

Except for the first one, the various links (to the left) take you to separate pages containing reviews of 10mm pistols, ammo and magazines.

The top link is the more recent addition. This article is a bit different. It reviews a tactical rifle course I took at TDI in Ohio. A number of pictures follow the review to help illustrate the training experience. The AR carbines I used are detailed in the article, and a postscript after the pictures discusses certain gear issues for people who are new to such training. If you're a 10mm fan who is also into shooting the AR-pattern 5.56 rifle or carbine, or if you're someone who just wants to get good training with a "tactical" rifle, then, hopefully, this information will be of interest.

The other links concentrate on the 10mm topic and all contain pictures to illustrate the points covered.

The "Tibbets Delta Elite" link takes you to a write-up detailing the custom work of pistolsmith Vic Tibbets on my DE. If you own a stock DE or other 10mm 1911, a list of the work done and parts used is provided so you'll have some idea of what extensive customizing entails. But you can always go the minimalist route too. Sean Smith's website contains great information on certain minor work that will pay big dividends in how your 1911 handles the energetic 10mm cartridge.

10mm Tech Notes

The Tibbets DE Range Report does just that, describing how the Delta performed with various 10mm ammo after receiving it back from Vic.

The 10mm Ammo Review is an early range report on Double Tap Ammunition's 165gn & 180gn 10mm Golden Saber HP loads. It was written before DT released its 135gn Nosler and 10mm Gold Dot HP loads, so they weren't available then for inclusion in the review.

The 10mm Mag Review discusses the performance of Tripp's 9-rd Cobra magazines and Metalform's extended 10-rd magazines, using my DE as the test gun.

Finally, the last link goes to my modest collection of 10mm pistols, such as it is. Other 10mm fans have far more guns in this caliber than I do, but it's offered here to give someone new to the cartridge an idea of what's out there - in current production (the Glock 20 & 29) as well as discontinued models (the S&W 10XX-series).
